I do not know if people really know how much I love Manchester United. I remember the first match I ever saw was a epic duel with Arsenal (which had the tunnel incident). I virtually knew nothing about soccer outside the goooalllllllllllllllll and David Beckham, little did I know that match would have a huge influence on me. Fast forward a few many years later, and I wake up at 5 am if I have to watch a game and read up on them everyday. And all this would not have been possible for the greatest manger of all time…Sir Alex Ferguson.

You may be wondering what is the big deal of a manger retiring? Well let me break it down in one long sentence :26 years, 13 league titles, 2 Champions Leagues, the Cup Winners’ Cup, 5 FA Cups, 4 League Cups. Yes you read that right in 26 yrs in charge he was won everything twice over. But before the trophies, medals and glory there is one quote that started it all..

In 1986 he famously said “”knocking Liverpool off their f***ing perch..” was his priority and mission. When he said this you have to understand at the time..Liverpool was the dominant team in England and had 18 titles to United’s 7. It seemed like a pipe dream to be able to even comprehend winning a league title let alone 13 he eventually won. What is more amazing is in the style he did, in a attacking way that would throw caution to the wind and would fight into the last second of “Fergie time”.

There is so much I want to say and will write in the coming days once I can fully accept this. But I leave you with a quote from the Manger,  Gafer, Sir Alex Ferguson or as i love to all him boss ” My greatest challenge is not what’s happening at the moment, my greatest challenge was knocking Liverpool right off their f***ing perch. And you can print that.”

Thank you Sir Alex for being the most amazing Manger, steward and servant the club has ever seen.
