It’s morning and the mattress and pillows seem to literally be exerting a physical force on your body. There is an unexplainable pull reaching out from the soft surface of your bed and forcing you to stay in bed and ignore the issues of the day. This morning featured an especially strong pull, I’m still struggling to get myself ready for work, so I’ve decided to throw the above track on here not only for all of you but for myself also. J Cole makes quite the funky head nodding assortment of good music and I find this track to be of the perfect variety to make me hop out of bed and start head nodding around the room like I was too cool to actually dance at a club. Time to make moves folks.
Rarely ever do I post any tee designs from so called “upcoming” fashionistas or artists. I don’t think I’ve actually ever spread light on any newcomers. That’s genuinely not because I don’t want to give someone a chance, or because I think I’m too big to post about it. It’s because I just never felt like this was the proper venue to do strictly designer posts on artists that I didn’t actually know. If I had any friends that were trying to get into the clothing game I would do what I can to help those I know on a personal level but only when I can support the product. Lucky for me, we have one of those cases.
I like doing posts on my peoples projects without them asking. So that they (just like all of you) get the experience to wake up. If you don’t know, I’m a huge wrestling fan. Anything from mainstream WWE to Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, Ring Of Honor, New Japan Pro Wrestling, and Wrestle Circus. So you can imagine my excitement when I saw that someone mashed my two worlds together (Wrestling & “Streetwear”) and brilliantly put it on a shirt.
It’s a pleasure to see someone pour all of their energy and hard work into a project, smart money would say don’t bet against him even in a densely over crowded clothing game. Check his site out to see all he has to offer and spend some money. That’s the end of today’s diatribe. Enjoy the visuals and go follow Joel2Sleep on EVERYTHING.

It’s that time of the year where all the geeks come out of their rooms to congregate in a small-ish convention center in San Diego, discussing and celebrating all things even vaguely geek. Yes. Comic Con is upon us.
I can’t even begin to count the times I’ve been to the convention center, but I sure as hell don’t seem to be getting desensitized to it. Rather, the fun keeps increasing. I’m also aware of more events going on outside the con, so I’m gonna try my darndest to see as much of it as I can.
Before the con happens, there’s a certain calm that we’re all in. Preparing, waiting, anticipating, and listening to Garasu no Hanazono are all things SSB’s doing to gear up for the con. Ruby Rose heading to an Arc System fighting game, Geese Howard showing up in Tekken 7, man, shit’s wild.
FYI, SSB’s HQ for the con is going to a certain hotel Downtown, sorta near Horton Plaza. Good for Gaslamp activities. Big ups to Jared for scoring this one.
9 years. 9 cons. And SSB’s numbers keep increasing. Guess SSB’s doing something right. Standing for what’s right and geeky. Not bending to the mainstream ideals of what’s cool. I’ve watched many groups come and go, single entities claiming to be geeky and what, take a couple of con photos and fizzle out? Nah, SSB don’t roll like that. If I’m headed to idol hell, then you motherfuckers are coming with–
Work on the zine still continues unabated. We’ve also signed a couple of new writers to the team. Their work will be drawn out real soon. As far as the cover art goes, I can show that to you guys now.
Oops. My bad.
Beaten to an inch of my life, but still standing and ready to go another round or two. That’s the way I roll. Look out world, SSB’s still up. And there’s no signs of stopping now.
Leave it all in the ring, my coaches are fond of saying. That includes your blood too.
Another summer has come upon SSB, and we’re sorta hard at work. Con season’s coming up, y’know. Anime Expo and Comic Con, naturally. I’ve got some new comics on the horizon that are gonna be up as soon as I get ’em, so there’s that to look forward to.
On the gaming side of things, Persona 5. Holy fuck. Nier Automata. Yakuza 0. Can I just say that Japanese game devs are kicking ass again? Hell, I’m going to be cosplaying again. This time, I’m going to be Kazuma Kiryu from the Yakuza series.
Thailand was amazing. Hot as fuck, but the Thais are exceedingly friendly. Guess it’s that whole Southeast Asian mindset. Honestly felt like the Philippines. With more Muay Thai and spice.
Japan was…Japan. I was honestly glad that I could spend more time with my friends out there, and seeing the Kanda shrine was honestly worth it.
There’s gonna be a new comic out that’s covering basically what I’ve been going through post-trip. Nonstop training and MMA. Look out for it!
Other than that, I don’t have anything else to update you all on. Currently our comic anthology is in its compilation stage, we’ve gotta find all of our art and compile it, and hopefully have some other articles as well.
What’s up guys, I’m back again with some news from the Destiny universe. The sequel is happening. We have worked, looted, cheesed, and pissed off a half-dozen different alien species. This time, it gets real.
Gary(as r/destinythegame refers) and the cabal are launching a full-scale invasion and conquest of the city. All our armor, loot, ships, sparrows, everything is gone. So tighten those boots, grab a gun, charge your supers and get ready to get some fat loots; because why else do we kill aliens but for the loot they bring?
Destiny 2 launches September 8 for PS4, Xbox One, AND PC. So pick your platform with your friends and get ready for a lootstravaganza(this is a word now, ask Gearbox and Borderlands franchise). Preorders will get you early access to the beta.
Courtesy of DTG’s own u/Hawkmoona_matata, this disturbingly accurate trailer perfectly encapsulates everything wonderful about Destiny, the game where people still beg Bungie to make changes this late in the game’s cycle.
Because not even Oryx can control an ogre, unless HE’S IN A TANK!!!
I’m gonna be 34 years old this Friday. Yep. Time flies when you’re having fun. I’m not gonna lie to you guys, it’s been an absolute blast making the occasional comic and blog entry with you all. And for that, I’m grateful.
Also, SSB’s been around for close to 9 years now. I really need to nail down a definite start date for SSB…I’ll wait for my Timehop to let me know when I made that post with Jenny.
Anyway, I seriously can’t express how happy I am to be around such cool fuckin’ people every day of my life. Just some things to look forward to over the next few weeks:
- More Hood Tours.
- More playthroughs
- Destiny’s “Look Back” streaming
- And more comics. For sure.
- Otakufighter posts again!
Soooo, to Jared, Ericka, Brian, Justin, Josh, Jairus, Jesse, Mario, you have no idea how much I appreciate you guys putting up with my random shenanigans and even more random schedule. Thank you. I appreciate all of you guys more than you can ever know.
