If you’re anything like me, you probably caught Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers as a kid. If you’re also like me, your parents didn’t buy you those toys (if your parents did, lucky you!). You may have seen the Legacy Morphers or Megazord but another holy grail appears on the market again to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Power Rangers in the United States!

A toy re-issue of the Dragon Dagger used by Tommy Oliver in the MMPR series will release as a Toys “R” Us exclusive on March 18, 2014. The Dragon Dagger looks bad ass and comes in a great size for adults to hold. The dagger comes with die-cast metal parts and full electronics featuring metallic clanging, the MMPR theme song and Dragonzord attack/summon songs programmed in. The tip of the blade is plastic resin but still maintains a pointed shape. Previously, replica dragon dagger resin kits would run folks $250-300 (unpainted without electronics mind you!) so this is definitely a steal for collectors and cosplayers!

In December, a pre-order link was leaked to lucky internet lurkers but shut down two days later. Hopefully this link stays up longer than that. The item was originally slated for a February 2014 release but was delayed. Not much is known about the release of the die-cast metal Legacy Dragonzord, also slated for a March 2014 release with a price point slightly higher than the dagger.

For a little more on the item, MMPR Toys YouTube Channel made a video review at a recent toy show:

The item retails for $79.99 + tax and shipping. If you order soon, TRU has a deal for free shipping on orders over $49.00. Mine is pre-ordered. Get yours if you dare! I hope more legacy toys will release!
