Fighters of Cap?…OMG!

I know i’m probably late to this but the word on the street is that Capcom trademarked the title ‘Fighters of Capcom‘. If you know anything about me by now, it’s probably something to do with my chronic cycle of reflection mirror/window checking or the fact that I go ape shit over anything involving Capcom. I don’t know what it is but, I love Capcom fighting games and beatem ups. I’m not any good at them but i’m usually the first to reserve them at gamestop. Let’s hope that it’s the greatest fighting game in the WORLD and NOT some turn based card system game. If my prayers for this game to be the Greatest of all time comes true, I’ll go ahead and forget about Capcom Fighting Jam. All is forgiven.

Cello’s and Lightsabers

Back, back, way back I had a problem identifying with groups of people in HS and College. On one hand I played sports, was SOMEWHAT popular, had a decent fashion sense, proper hygiene, an ear for underground hip hop, a girlfriend. I never really considered myself a “cool kid” On the other hand I was REALLY into anime, D&D, 2D fighting games, and comics. I guess you can say I was conflicted. Conflicted until the day I met Twitch

Twitch basically showed me that it’s cool to be a hybrid. So when most people would watch the video I posted below, I’m sure some people would say “that’s the nerdiest thing i’ve ever seen” When hybrids, like myself watch. I’m sure we can all agree that that’s the coolest thing we’ve seen.

Dance/Electro Cello Star Wars music? yes please

Turkey with a side of Pepper Spray

Hi, Hello, Greetings and Salutations, how was your Thanksgiving? whatever.

With Thanksgiving over, the Christmas season is now officially underway, and with that comes the traditional pepper spraying, shooting, and stabbing of holiday shoppers. What, that’s not tradition where you’re from? Oh it’s not traditional here either? Well, it unfortunately might be now. in recent years, shoppers intending to capitalize on Black Friday deals had more to deal with than just long lines, as people across the country were injured in attempts to get survival necessities like PS3’s and waffle makers.

A woman who pepper sprayed over twenty people in a Los Angeles-area Walmart in order to get to a crate of XBOX 360’s. Though really, can you blame her? Those things go fast. And apparently, a security guard in North Carolina also pepper sprayed customers looking for various electronics. Two bucks says he’s from Davis.

Folks, our family grows stronger! Shogun Gamer will now be a partner of SSB!

That’s right! these good people are part of a great gaming website who has a die hard passion for Megaman games, and as part of our first event together, we will be hosting a Child’s Play charity event that is Megaman themed!

The money we collect will go into improving the lives of children in hospitals by providing them with toys games and among other things .

Shogun Gamer:
The idea started as the seed of Kyle Hill. He’s always wanted to utilize his passion for gaming and his appreciation of the work done by the Child’s Play organization. Considering he’s dumped more hours into Mega Man than anyone he knows, it seemed like the perfect fit. The idea developed as one that would encompass an entire weekend, featuring three players of varying skill making their way through the Mega Man and Mega Man X series. The idea now, is that donators will be able to directly influence the game by issuing addition challenges to increase or reduce the difficulty of the playthrough.

Now you may ask, what is our role here? Simple! we will be giving away posters and commissions to those who visit and help out with our goal!

The event begins December 8, 2012 and ends in December 10  at
I hope to see you there, and if you do, please mention that you came from our website!

Peace out!

A thanksgiving post.

First off, I need to apologize if the previous post shocked or scared some of you.  Yes, Team Mixed Nuts is no more.  We are simply “Strawberry Scented Burnout”.  SSB for short.  Get it?  Got it?  Good.

It’s thanksgiving, where we take some time out of the year and count our blessings.  I know that I’ve got A LOT to be thankful for, so much that it can’t be contained in a single facebook post.

I’d like to thank my family and close friends for helping me stay sane and motivated throughout the year.  You fuckers know who you are, I’m not gonna drop names.

Next?  I’d like to thank Jack In The Box for hiring me in their “RTS” squad.  I’m working with a lot of really good people and they’re really helpful.   If anything, it was a sign that I was on the right track career-wise.  Plus getting my certs paid for is a definite plus.

And to my homies from SPJA/AX, Anime Conji, SDAFF/Pac-Arts, the homies at Ansir, the creative minds at what was Keyleaf Comics, my classmates from Coleman 2012’s “CN-problem mod”, Jabronie Pictures, Almost Good Films, the Mission Complete crew, the OG members of Team Mixed Nuts, my taekwondo students, the training crew of Saturday Striking….thank you.  A million times, thank you.

What lies ahead for us?  Who knows.  All I can say is that it’s gonna be awesome.

From destruction comes rebirth.

“From destruction comes rebirth.” I’ve heard that numerous times.  However, that above line rings true for us today.

I founded Team Mixed Nuts in September of 2008.  Bad breakup, writing a comic, dealing with emotions….you know the deal.  That was in the past.

Strawberry Scented Burnout’s been our pet project ever since 2008, and so far it’s been working out quite well.  After some discussion, Justin, Ro, and myself have decided to change ourselves.  For the better.  Our website is our crown jewel, our baby, and it represents us.

From this moment, Team Mixed Nuts exists no more.  Team Mixed Nuts is now…..

We figure that it flows better.  That is le bidness.
